What is the cost of stripping and sealing a floor?

The basic cleaning is offered at a cost - special circumstances may increase the price of cleaning, which may include pet problems, extreme soiling, difficult set-up situations, and types of flooring. One of our advisers will be able to provide a quote upon visiting the site.

How often should you strip and wax a floor?

Generally speaking, you should have your floor waxed/sealed once not more than once every 6 months, but not less than once every 36 months. For most floors, every 12 months to 18 months is sufficient.

What are the benefits of floor stripping and sealing?

The benefits of applying a high-quality floor sealer system allows you to protect and enhance the durability of your floors. Floors are exposed to unrelenting abrasion from foot traffic and trolley traffic, spillages and dirt in which without protection, can cause the floor surface to become dull and even wear away. Once coated with a suitable sealer, the floor is protected from these potential damages.

What is floor stripping?

FLOOR STRIPPING is the process of removing the old covering/coating (such as wax, sealer, finishing and any other element) and replacing it with a new protective coating.

What is the PROCESS for cleaning and sealing wood floors?

We will pre-spray with an eco-friendly cleaner specifically designed for wood floors. We will agitate the cleaner by scrubbing with a soft bristle brush. We will thoroughly rinse the floor using a Controlled Pressure Hot Water Extraction Machine. We will mop with the Diversey Neutral Cleaner to neutralize the cleaner left on the floor and let it dry. Lastly, we will apply a sealer/coating/finish (glossy/satin) using a mop applicator.

What is the drying/curing time of the sealer?

It all depends on the natural temperature and air circulation inside the home as well weather conditions, but under the typical situation, light foot traffic is permissible after 1 hour, while curing time is 24 hours.

When can we put the furniture back?

Ideally after 24 hours. But if needed, you can put the furniture back after 2 hours.

Can we put back the area rugs right after cleaning?

We highly recommend to lay down the area rugs after 24 hours.

How should we clean the floors afterwards and what products should we use?

Since it sealed, you can simply use a neutral floor cleaner and dampening a microfiber mop.

What are the benefits to refinishing/resealing/recoating?

Over time the original finishing/coating will become very thin and cloudy, making it susceptible to abrasion and absorption. The SEALER/COATING will serve as a thin film of protective covering over the original coat. It will serve as a barrier between any foreign substance and the wood floor.

What is the PROCESS with concrete floor cleaning and sealing?

Pre spray with the cleaner designed for concrete Spread the cleaner using the floor machine/ scrub brush Thoroughly rinse using the High-Pressure Hot Water Extraction Machine Mopping with the Diversey Neutral Cleaner Sealing: Clear Sealer (glossy/satin/matte) or Color Sealer (dark gray, gray, etc. depending on the availability of colors)

Can we remove rust/oil stains?

We cannot remove the stains completely but we can lighten up the appearance of the stains.

What is the difference between Grinding and Strip Cleaning the concrete floor?

Grinding/sanding - removing the most surface part of the concrete. Strip cleaning – removing the outermost covering or sealer of the concrete floor.

Do you grind the concrete floor before applying the sealer?

Our technician will conduct a situational analysis to see if grinding is a suitable option. *If so, it is available for an additional cost.

Can we just professionally clean the concrete floor without applying the sealer?

Yes, but it is not recommended as the concrete floor will become very absorbent after the cleaning.

Can we step on the floor after the sealing process?

Light Foot Traffic: 1 - 2 hours after the final application of the sealer. Curing time: 24 hours

What is the best method to maintain concrete floors after the deep cleaning?

Regular vacuuming, sweeping or mopping with a neutral cleaner are always the best methods to maintain any type of floor.
